From Vaprio d’Adda, near Milan, the car travels to you by hand, anywhere in Italy. From the lakefront the road follows the shore up to [Varenna](place:varenna); from there the car ferry crosses to [Bellagio](place:bellagio) and [Menaggio](place:menaggio), while inland the road climbs into Valsassina. These roads have plenty of bends and a few narrow stretches: a compact convertible such as the [Porsche 718 Boxster](car:porsche-718-boxster) is perfect for the lake, an SUV such as the [Mercedes-AMG G 63](car:mercedes-amg-g63) for the mountains.
